The LE-300 Extreme is designed around a unique low inertia axial flux generator which utilises Neodymium rare earth magnetic materials. This alternator has zero ‘cogging’which, together with its highly efficient and low ‘TSR’ Whispower blades, allow the turbine to deliver a higher output than the competition in high wind speeds. The up-rated alternator has a cooler running temperature in storm force winds for added reliability. The power output levels off at 20m/s (45mph), preventing the turbine from spinning out of control yet still continue to produce power in high winds.
